Connection: The Basis of Public Relations

Posted by Daniel Artman on October 3rd 2008

The Point of Connection is the theme of the PRSA 2008 International Conference, which we are proud to be hosting in Detroit, Oct. 25-28.

Connections are really the cornerstone of public relations practice. As communications practitioners, we must first successfully connect with our clients (in the agency setting) — or boss, or coworkers we are on project teams with, for those of us in the nonagency world. To advance the messages or initiatives we are charged with in our work, we must make additional connections: with members of the media (media relations), fellow employees (employee communications), members of the public or specific stakeholder audiences, such as donors, potential customers or legislators (investor relations, special events/fund raising, governmental relations).

If you haven’t already done so, please make an investment in yourself and join us in Detroit for this year’s Conference. Attending gives you exclusive access to the brightest minds and biggest names in the public relations and communication industry, as well as excellent networking opportunities with colleagues from all over North America.

Come to Detroit and :

  • Connect with bestselling author, sports columnist and radio personality Mitch Albom.
  • Hear from Craigslist Founder and Chairman Craig Newmark.
  • Gain insights from more than 200 leading experts.
  • Earn APR maintenance points.
  • Meet new professional colleagues and reconnect with others you already know.
