It’s not that hard!
At the PRSA 2008 International Conference in Detroit, three PRSA College of Fellows members — Joan Capelin, APR, Fellow PRSA, Vivian Hamilton, APR, Fellow PRSA, and I — will be presenting a session to APRs and other interested folks about the ins and outs of preparing an application for the prestigious PRSA College of Fellows. The session is called “College of Fellows 101: Demystifying the Application.” Here are a few thoughts:
• It’s not a clique, and it’s not an “automatic honor” for APRs who have more than 20 years in the business.
• It is an honor bestowed to the best practitioners based on a lifetime (at least 20 years of it) of commitment to the profession and superior performance as a practitioner.
o Nineteen NEW College of Fellows members will be inducted into the College of Fellows in Detroit, bringing the number of COF members to nearly 470 — out of the nearly 22,600 PRSA professional members in the business.
o That’s the “top 2%” of our profession who are members of PRSA.
