PRSA Digital Impact Call for Presentations: Seeking Online Influencers to Share Knowledge and Experience

Posted by Eric Schwartzman on November 29th 2011

The PRSA 2012 Digital Impact Conference will be held April 2–3, 2012, in New York City.

We’re looking for online influencers, experts and leaders on the client and agency sides to present strategies, theories, ideas, research and results.

Caryn Marooney, director of product communications at Facebook, is confirmed to keynote, and we’re now accepting speaker proposals until 8 p.m. EST, Dec. 9, 2011.

The Digital Impact Conference is dedicated to profiling the impact of digital technology on the business of communications. We are looking to spotlight projects, programs, organizations and individuals who are effectively leveraging the power of digital to get their message across, increase productivity and manage reputations.

So if you’re ready to share detailed, thoughtful information and concepts (no cream puffs, please) that attendees can put into action immediately, check out the official Call for Presentations and submit to present on one of the following three conference tracks:

  • Strategies and Innovations
  • Trends, Tactics and Tools for Industry Marketing and Communications
  • New Communications Research

Conference co-chairs Elizabeth Albrycht, Kevin Sangsland and I, with the support of the PRSA Technology Professional Interest Section and the Society for New Communications Research, are all actively seeking online influencers to share their knowledge and experience at our upcoming conference, presented by the Public Relations Society of America.

Thanks for considering this speaking opportunity. Looking forward to your submissions, particularly if you can show us how to find influencers online.

Eric Schwartzman, managing director of Los Angeles public relations firm Schwartzman & Associates, has nearly 20 years of experience as a marketer and a public relations practitioner and specializes in helping clients integrate all aspects of Web-based communications into mainstream public relations, corporate communications and marketing campaigns.

The Call for Presentations for the PRSA 2012 Digital Impact Conference will be available until 12/09/2011 8:00 p.m. EST.

FAQ

For which PRSA events will my presentation be considered?

This year, the Call for Presentations covers two events:

The PRSA 2012 Digital Impact Conference: Influence and Persuasion
April 2–3, 2012
New York, N.Y
.

The Hyperconnections Summit: Smashing Out of the Box in Tech PR 2012
Sept. 27–28, 2012
Atlanta, Ga.

What is the deadline?

The Call for Presentations closes at 5 pm PST on Dec. 9.

What is the policy regarding presenter expenses?

Presenters selected for breakout sessions or roundtables will receive one complimentary conference registration, which includes meals. PRSA does not reimburse presenters for out-of-pocket expenses, such as hotels, airfare or transfers, nor provides speaker stipends.

How many presenters are allowed in a workshop?

No more than three presenters, including the moderator in a panel presentation, are allowed per workshop.

If my proposal is accepted, what are the next steps?

You will be asked to submit a photograph, and we will edit your session description for promotional activities. You also will be asked to develop a blog post that discusses the content of your presentation.

You will be invited to Tweetups to discuss content and promote the conference.

One month before the conference, you will submit your presentation so we can ensure that there is no duplication of content, and that attendees will have access to it on-site.

When will I find out if my proposal has been accepted?

All proposals will go through a review process. Notifications of proposal acceptance will occur by mid-January, 2012.
